In the early stages of my research, I focused on pioneering experimental approaches to biomass and waste valorization. This involved thermodynamic and kinetic analyses of pyrolysis, bench-scale experimentation, catalytic upgrading, and the co-pyrolysis of diverse waste materials.
Towards the later phase of my Ph.D. at KTH, I began leveraging my experimental data for process simulations, creating inventory data for comprehensive environmental and economic assessments. My work has spanned biofuels, bio-hydrogen, bio-graphite, and waste-derived jet fuel. Currently, I am applying GIS-based logistics analysis to tackle one of the most complex challenges in practical biomass and waste utilization: detailed feasibility assessments.
In the final year of my Ph.D. at KTH, I introduced machine learning as a core data-processing tool. My role at Nanjing Forestry University expanded this approach, utilizing domain knowledge for feature extraction from literature to strengthen model robustness and performance. I believe that integrating domain-specific knowledge with AI is essential for addressing complex interdisciplinary challenges across natural, engineering, and social sciences.
